A visit to my LYS

So I did finally make it over the Moonshine Fiber, the closest yarn store to my house, and it's really a pretty neat place.  They have a lot of different options, and a lot of unique looking stuff.  I'm not terribly familiar with what kinds of things can usually be found in a LYS, but this place has a lot of imported animal fibers, and some really beautiful organic bamboo yarns.  I actually felt quite overwhelmed at first, but after I walked around for 20 minutes or so, I felt a little more competent about buying something.  I do need to do a little research on how to stash though...  I had one project in mind for sure, so I bought for that, but I had NO idea what else to look at or buy...  If you do decide to make an impulse buy, how much do you get?  Is there a standard "reasonable stash amount" to just keep around for a yarn emergency?  These are questions that need to be answered!  Here are a couple of pictures from the store:

A cool way to display sale yarns

Some really beautiful merino wool, hand dyed

I happened to hit during a buy one get one half off yarn sale, which worked out really well, so I was able to get 2 hanks of angora and wool blend yarn for a project I want to make for Christmas.  :)  Look at them!!
