Halftime!

I am to the halfway point on my seed stitch scarf!  I have come to the end of my first ball of yarn, and am looking into figuring out just how to go about joining new yarn with a variegated yarn.  But here's the picture of the halfway point.  As you can see, there are a few places where I have mistakes (I somehow turned the pattern inside out??) but I'm feeling pretty good about it so far...

So I can see a light at the end of the tunnel with this one.  One thing that I have learned is that It is difficult to stay focused on one project at a time.  There was a point about halfway through where I started getting really distracted, and almost started a second project, thinking that I wanted to move on to things that I might be able to give away for Christmas, but I resisted!  I think, at least until I feel really proficient in the basics, that I need to focus on one thing at a time.  I have a couple of mini-projects planned for after this one is done, and then I am planning to try some knitting in the round.  Ideally, that would lead me into hats, which I am SUPER excited about...  :)
